 Students should be at the Air Transat check-in area in Terminal 3 by 8.00pm. Irish Experience staff will be there in their distinctive shirts to assist with check-in.  We will also be distributing the etickets and insurance certs at that time.

  • Arrive at Dublin Airport. Coach to Cork. Settle into apartments on the campus of University College Cork (UCC)
Day 3

  • Afternoon: Guided tour of campus followed by walking tour of Cork City.
Day 4

  • Afternoon:: Visit Blarney Castle.  Kiss the Blarney Stone.  Get the gift of the gab

  • Evening concert at the Cork Marquee (subject to schedule and ticket availability)

  • Afternoon:  Visit the picturesque Cobh (Cork Harbour)

  • All day tour to Mizen Head on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Stop in Gougane Barra enroute.  Dinner at the Maritime Hotel in Bantry before returning to Cork

  • Evening: Rince Cois Locha. Outdoor ceili dancing at The Lough

  • Afternoon:  Afternoon: The Gaelic Games Experience. Learn the ancient art of our stick and ball game “Hurling” – the oldest, yet fastest field sport in the world and  Gaelic Football,  like soccer, rugby, basketball and more all rolled into one

  • Tour to the picturesque harbour town of Kinsale. Gaze at the site of the sinking of The Lusitania during World War 1 from the Viewing tower

  • Depart by coach for Dublin via the the historic city of Kilkenny, tour Ormonde Castle. On the way, stop to explore the spectacular Mitchelstown Cave, one kilometre in length, with its huge chambers and amazing stalagmites and stalactites.
  • Settle into apartments on campus of UCD

  • Bus Top tour of Dublin City

  • Visit Historic Trinity College and Medieval Manuscript, the Book of Kells

  • visit to the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship and Museum
  • Performance of a play on the curriculum at the Abbey Theatre

  • Afternoon tour of Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains

  • Evening; attend performance of Riverdance
Day 20
  • Optional trip to the Titanic Museum and the Giants Causeway

  • Evening;  Farewell banquet at the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire Harbour.

  • Slan Abhaile.
  • Flight back to Toronto.

Travel Tips

Money: Euros

ATM cards and credit cards are used widely throughout Ireland.

Clothing:

Bring enough clothing for one week. Laundromat facilities are available at each location. Dress as you would in North America but be sure to bring a light rainproof jacket and a sweater. Sensible walking shoes or sneakers are essential.

Linen:

Linen and towels are provided by the residences and changed once a week.

Laptops: All rooms have WiFi access.

Printing facilities are available at each location

Electrical Devices

Electrical Current: 220 Volts. If you are bringing a hair dryer or curler, you will need either one that is adaptable to that voltage or some sort of transformer. The wall plugs are also different so an adapter is needed. These can be purchased at an electronics store or at the airport. (Click for picture of adapter)

School Supplies

Bring a pen, paper and binder; everything else is provided.
